Making a killing with PLR Products

A PLR product means a Private Label Rights product. Simply stated, once you obtain a PLR product, you get that product as your own, and can resell it with a different name, a different pretense, a different anything. This may not sound like a big deal, but really you can make a killing with these PLR Products.

There are two ways of making money with PLR products, creating your own, or reselling other PLR products. The Affiliate Earning I’ll describe how to resell PLR products first:

How many times have you been to a website with a decent product idea, but a horrible website, poor sales copy, and an outrageous price? You’ve probably thought to yourself, wow, I could do that so much better! That’s the basic idea with PLR products, rather than taking the time to create your own product, simply obtain some PLR stuff and re-market it with a better name, better marketing strategies and an overall cleaner presentation.

These are a few good ones as well; I also strongly recommend browsing eBay.

Now that you have picked up a few good PLR products, you need to learn how to resell them. First off: Never try to resell them on forums, or via Clickbank or any other Affiliate service, its almost guaranteed that the product you chose is already listed and you will be denied.

Now that we have that out of the way, how can you sell them? Simple! Create your own website, or sell them on eBay. The trick to doing this is to hire a copywriter or simply write a better sales letter, using some of the marketing tricks I have told you.

Dirty Little Secret: I recommend using the PLR product you found as a building block for a “new” product. Always edit the entire book to represent your view points, put your legal information in, and overall just give the product a content and visual upgrade.

Arguably, the biggest problem most people face with reselling their “new” PLR product is that they tend to severely under price the product, offering it at prices so low they lose profits. The loss is two-fold; first, you lose money from a lower price, as well a lower price often scares away prospective buyers. If you’ve changed the product to match your own needs, have confidence in it!

The other method I prefer is to just use eBay. eBay is great because you essentially get very cheap traffic. It might cost you a dollar or two to list a product, but you can easily get over 200 product views. Think of it like this; is 2 bucks worth 200, extremely targeted, ready to buy impulse shoppers? I would pay 20 bucks for that kind of exposure, and often do!

There are a few things to avoid when selling things on eBay. Don’t just list your product, and copy and paste the generic sales letter. Keep it simple, and list the product highlights. The buying mood on eBay is different than on other parts of the net, you’ll find the average eBay user wants a deal, not a miracle, so keep it real. The other thing to avoid is dramatically de pricing your product in the hopes of making a few bucks. Don’t sell your product for .99, not only will any sale

barely be worth it, but you’ll very quickly scare away any serious buyers, as they assume $.99 isn’t worth the paper its printed on (electronic or not!).

Price your product for what you think it’s actually worth, and advertise immediate shipment. Offer a buyout, with multiple items per sale in every listing, and use an odd number. Using an odd number makes the average user think that you have already sold a few copies, and will often make them act on it.

When I resell PLR products as is, or create my own, I find its better to create a large group of related PLR products, and release them as a package deal. It’s not hard to acquire and rewrite 10-15 PLR products and quickly turn them around on the Warrior Forum. You’ll find this will work best if you target and expand upon a niche topic. “Making money” PLR products are everywhere, so don’t be afraid to try something new.

Dirty little secret: When using PLR articles on your own websites, make sure you take a few minutes and really change up the article. Google and other search engines actively search for duplicate content, and penalize newer websites with the same content as others, so if you are worried about search engine rankings, this is important!
