Purchasing a catchy domain is just a small part of the whole puzzle. There are, however, a few things you can do to make your blog attract more people.  When people start noticing your blog and visiting it regularly, that’s when you can start making some money off your blogging efforts.

You need to inform search engines and blogging directories that your blog is live. You do this by submitting the URL of your blog to various search engines and online directories. This will eventually ensure that when someone searches with the keywords you are using, there’s a bigger chance for your blog to pop up in the results.You will also need to actively participate on other blogs by posting your personal opinion in the form of comments. This will get many people to your blog from other blogs. You will however need to say something relevant to the subject or your comments might never be allowed on the page. This will also build credibility for you.

People who are active on discussion boards often get more traffic to their blogs because they have the opportunity to post links back to their blog and communicate with people who are into the same niche as they are. The more you participate on these discussion boards and forms the more people will begin to recognize you. When you start getting a decent amount of visitors to your blog you should begin by placing ads on your blog. I usually recommend that you don’t do this prior to before you start getting a few thousand visitors a day.

Add pictures to your blog posts, and videos if possible — this is especially important if you also plan to sell products through your blog. By adding these elements, you make your blog more interesting and attention-grabbing. Most people today also include a Contact Us form which allows people to reach them if they have questions or feedback about your products or your services.

Today, people also collaborate with other similar blogs and exchange links with them.  This is a good way to trade traffic. When you are blogging it certainly pays to collaborate in order to get the word out and reach a wider audience, so you can make money along the way.
