The gossip is that, apart from the banks, car manufacturers and restaurants ITV is now having problems trying to maintain its profitability reporting an overall loss for the first time in some time. Some of this is because of|owing to|as a result of|caused by|due to[/spin] loss making acquisitions but a large part has been attributed to the fall in advertising from large businesses.

What, if anything, are these organisations doing instead, and is it as successful or will ITV purely have to ride out this blip? Well the word is that the are doing something, they are moving their advertising resources to the internet and so whether ITV will have it’s advertising day again really does depend on how smart those marketing people are.

If they have researched the internet option completely they will not only appreciate that they will need topay serious attention to Improving Search Engine Ranking for their goods but that they really must have Guaranteed Top 10 Search Engine Ranking if they are going to see any profit from their spend at all. The best way to achieve this is via one of the Search Engine Placement Service providers who will aim to put the website on the first page of the top search engine results pages for the appropriate keywords.

However there is a risk, if the business has not done it’s homework, that they could end up paying a large amount of money and only Improving Search Engine Ranking from say page fifty to page 24, at first this looks like a massive improvement but the buying public nearly always find what they want on page one so there really is no benefit at all in what seems initially to be a quite impressive leap. Enquiries may rise from 1 hit per year to 2, fantastic!

Up until now a reasonable number of Search Engine Placement Service providers have made good money from this level of deal but the secret seems to be out – only page one will do, and of course there are only ten positions available on page one. So ITV must be hoping at this point that the secret is still under wraps so that the majority of the organisations who have moved away soon appreciate their blunder and come back to the traditional 30 to 50 second advert on on the box.

For sure it’s far better to be seen on television by everyone than unseen on page 6 of an internet search site but even better is having a Guaranteed Top 10 Search Engine Ranking for appropriate key words, after all, those people are seeking you!
