If you are selling something online, getting perpetual, sustainable traffic is important. There are many ways to get traffic, but most of them are just time and money waster. The best traffic comes from search engines.
You can pay for traffic, but in certain niche, especially the competitive ones, consider free traffic as well. When I said free traffic, I doesn’t mean you need to get your website or blog ranked top ten in Google or Yahoo search. There still lots of ways to drive targeted traffic to your website of affiliate link.
1. Directories like Ezine Articles is loved by Google due to its quality content and less spam. That’s why, once your articles get the editor’s approval, you can expect to get high ranking and instant traffic.
2. Take advantage of document sharing websites like Scribd. Google bots can index and read content inside pdf files, so as long as you posted quality content, there’s a high chance your documents will get ranked. The registration is free and even better, you don’t need to wait days for approval.
3. Create and publish your own video at Youtube. Today, when people are looking for information, they don’t depend on Google alone. Instead, video sharing sites like Youtube also becomes a popular choice. Remember to create quality videos and direct the traffic to your link in the description.
4. Build your own page at Hubpages or Squidoo. This one is a great alternative to your own website. Not only because it is free, but also due to fact Google loves both websites, even more than new domains. The concept is similar to posting an article at Ezine Articles, but with Hubpages, you can add images and videos.
5. Post Microsoft Powerpoint slideshow at Author Stream. In case you didn’t know, Author Stream is another content sharing sites, like Youtube, but this one is slideshow. You can create free slideshow using Microsoft Powerpoint or Google Docs, post it to this website and expect traffic to come.
6. Publish your own blog at Blogger or Tumblr. Both blogspot and Tumblr get high page rank in Google. Create your free blog and don’t forget to update the content frequently. Google loves unique, fresh content and will send spiders to index your website.
7. Utilize the power of RSS feed. RSS Feed directories like Feedagg or Feedage often appears for certain search term in Google search. By posting your blog’s RSS feed, you can build more backlinks and traffic.
